The United States of America is going through a transition period like we have never seen before. Infrastructure is collapsing, natural disasters are popping up left and right, people are divided like never before, mass shootings are up like never before, and the dollar is buying less and less each day. Unfortunately, this is only a short list of what’s going wrong with our country because we have way more problems that are too much to list.
Our instability has made us the laughingstock of the world. And things will get a lot worse before they get any better.
Gone are the days when we thought nothing bad could happen to our country.
Today, there seems to be something horrible that happens every single day.
In this article, I want to discuss 7 Likely SHTF Scenarios to Hit the United States with you. (SHTF = Sh*t Hits The Fan)
Let me educate you if you don’t know what the acronym SHTF means. When people say “SHTF,” they mean a major disaster or serious emergency. We’ve had several SHTF situations here in America in the past year…
So without rambling too much further, let’s begin.
Pandemics
America has experienced quite a few pandemics in our history. Smallpox, West Nile Virus, and most recently Covid-19. These outbreaks made thousands of people sick, with many losing their lives…
Covid-19 was the worst one of all, though. The pandemic shut down our economy for a certain period of time, and we were confined to our homes.
Trust and believe that Covid won’t be the last pandemic. There will be another outbreak to hit our country, which will be worse than the last one.
Cyberattack
Our infrastructure and government are being hit by cyberattacks daily from other countries, criminal organizations, and shady hackers that want to start trouble.
These attacks can destroy our power grid, disrupt our banking, and steal sensitive information from citizens and the federal government.
For example, let’s look at what happened with the Colonial Pipeline hack in May 2021. A hacking group broke inside their system and caused the pipeline to shut down for a few days. This pipeline is a major thoroughfare for transporting oil from the Gulf to the east coast, so people were panic buying gasoline, which in turn gas stations ran out of gas.
There is no way to be fully secure against cyberattacks, so we can expect more major attacks to happen in the future.
Economic Collapse
Due to the federal government spending recklessly and piling on to our national debt of $32 trillion dollars at the time of this writing, it is evident that one day Congress won’t raise the debt ceiling, and our whole economy will collapse.
Unemployment will go through the roof, the stock market will crash, civil unrest will rise throughout the country, and the US dollar won’t be worth the paper it’s printed on. It will be a total mess.
EMP Attack
An Electromagnetic Pulse Attack, or EMP for short, is another catastrophe you should worry about.
An EMP sets off a burst of powerful electromagnetic waves that can destroy anything that runs off electricity. So imagine being unable to use your cellphone, computer, traffic lights out of service, power to your home will be shut off, etc.
We have a lot of enemies that would love to attack us with an EMP, so this SHTF scenario is not far-fetched.
Natural Disasters
Natural disasters are common here in the USA.
There are wildfires in California almost every summer.
Tornadoes in the Midwest.
Hurricanes in the South around the end of summer.
Blizzards and snowstorms in the Northeast during the winter.
These natural disasters are a way of life, and you must be prepared to deal with them as they come.
The largest natural disaster that I can remember was Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Everything in New Orleans was destroyed due to the levies breaking, and many lives were lost. The aftermath was beyond catastrophic, with thousands of residents relocating to other cities and states.
Power Grid Down
If the power grid goes down, you can be certain all hell will break loose in this country.
Without electricity, we can’t function as a nation. Plain and simple.
In 2019, Manhattan had a blackout that caused panic in NYC. Now imagine if the whole country had a blackout. That’s a scenario I do not wish to happen or want to imagine.
War
War is a SHTF scenario that can happen on our soil. The US has a lot of enemies, and they would do anything to destroy our country and make us weak. It’s only a matter of time before an aggressor launches an attack against us, and we end up in a full-scale war.
In conclusion, these 7 SHTF scenarios are situations you should be concerned about and prepare for. One or more of these will hit our country again. If you are prepared, you will see your way through. If not, you are going to suffer.
Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you next time. Take care.
